Europe will in the coming years see unprecedented investments in the defence sector, whether it concerns software, hardware or facilities. Increasing government budgets will have to find their way to the industry through cost-effective procurement procedures and it will require many new entrants to the sector. The joining businesses will find themselves operating under a set of unfamiliar rules, often with products of dual use. Facilities must be planned, developed, and realized within constraints and subject to all applicable regulations. Existing infrastructure must be adapted. Industrial sectors need to be made suitable for the startup of new production lines operating under an additional set of rules. Governments and businesses need to collaborate more intensively than ever.

Few law firms have the experience with public-private partnerships as HabrakenRutten, giving us an unparalleled understanding of the dynamics of cooperation between governments and businesses in large-scale projects. We not only draw upon our experience in large-scale area development and the realization of complex construction projects for new defence facilities and networks, but also our unique automotive industry knowledge as well as our experience in advising on rapid technological developments.
